His Majesty the Sultan performs Eid Al Adha prayers in Sohar

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik performed Eid Al Adha prayers on Thursday at Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Sohar, North Al Batinah Governorate, marking the first day of Eid Al Adha 1447 AH.

His Majesty was accompanied by members of the Royal Family, senior officials, military commanders, dignitaries, and citizens who gathered for the special prayers.

The Eid prayer was led by Dr Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, who delivered the Eid sermon focusing on the values of faith, pilgrimage and nationhood.

The sermon highlighted the role of religion in shaping a conscious and responsible society, stressing the importance of linking faith with good deeds to foster a prosperous and balanced life. It also underscored the spiritual and social significance of Hajj, describing it as a means to strengthen responsibility, sound judgment and social cohesion.

The sermon further emphasised the importance of harnessing diversity and integration as drivers of progress and prosperity, while praising Oman’s stability, institutional strength and leadership under His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

Prayers were also offered for the continued security and prosperity of Oman, the well-being of His Majesty the Sultan, and peace for people facing hardship, including Palestinians.

Following the prayer, His Majesty received Eid greetings from well-wishers and exchanged warm wishes for a blessed Eid filled with prosperity and blessings.

Upon His Majesty’s departure from the mosque, a 21-gun salute was fired in honour of the Supreme Commander.
